Please read the information below before appealing.

You must provide all your supporting evidence at this point, evidence submitted at a later date will not be considered. Below are the only grounds upon which an appeal will be considered. Please use the space provided below to submit your appeal.

Grounds for Appeal:

a: The alleged contravention did not occur: If you believe the contravention did not happen.

b: I was not the owner of the vehicle at the time of the contravention: if you sold the vehicle before the date of the contravention, or bought it after that date, you must tell us the name and address of the person who bought it from you, or sold it to you, together with the date of exchange. Remember to include all supporting documentation with your representations.

c: I was not the hirer at the time of the contravention/I was the hirer but had not signed a statement of liability: If you have been elected by a car hire company as the hirer of a vehicle at the time of the contravention but you dispute this or dispute that you signed a statement of liability, you should use these grounds and supply any documentary evidence you have in your possession to support your assertion.

d: I was the registered keeper of the vehicle on the date of the contravention however:

i: We are a hire company and the hirer had signed a statement accepting liability:
Please supply a copy of the signed agreement and supply the name and address of the hirer in the box below.

ii: The vehicle was being kept by a trader at the time of the contravention:
If you were not the keeper at the time of the contraventions the vehicle was being kept be vehicle trader you should complete the box below and enclose a copy of any documentary evidence you may have.
 
iii: The vehicle was being used without my consent at the time of the contravention:
If the vehicle had been taken without your consent or was stolen please quote the police crime reference or insurance claim number.

Please note: it is a criminal offence to withhold or not to update a vehicle’s details with the DVLA.
